If you want to use an article from this site...

I am hearing of more and more cases in which articles from Taken In Hand have been used without attribution and without permission, and even worse, in some cases individuals are claiming to have written the articles themselves.

While it is very nice that people like Taken In Hand articles so much that they want to claim to have written them themselves and use them elsewhere, this is wrong, and I ask everyone please not to do it.

You don't need to steal articles. I am not unreasonable. If you want to use an article of mine, and you ask my permission, I will give permission if you attribute it properly, state that it was first published on Taken In Hand and include the URL of the original article. In the case of an article by someone else, I will ask the author if he or she will give permission. Usually people are happy to give permission. There is no excuse for stealing articles.

Note that I am not talking about cases like one reader described here. If you want to use material from articles on this site to give information (privately) about what you want, relationshipwise, to the one you love, like this reader did, and you don't want to scare him or her by mentioning the website in the first instance, that is fine. If you are not sure if what you want to do falls into this category or one of the other categories, simply ask me. I will not deny any reasonable request.

If you discover material from Taken In Hand elsewhere and it is not properly attributed, please email me full details.

To seek permission for the use of an article, email me.

If you have already used an article elsewhere on the internet and have not attributed it, please add proper attribution and link to the original article, state that it was first published on Taken In Hand, and email me to let me know you have done that.

If you have written an article or post that includes material from an article on this site, please add a note to your piece acknowledging that your piece has incorporated material from Taken In Hand, link to the article or articles you have used, and let me know that you have done that.

If you insist on stealing Taken In Hand articles and using them elsewhere on the internet under your name and/or you do not attribute them properly and link to Taken In Hand, I will take all measures to have your site or account or group shut down and I will take legal action if you persist in this course. If you use Taken In Hand articles in a printed publication without attribution, I will take legal action against you.

To avoid legal and other action, rectify any such mistakes now, and email me to confirm that you have done so.

N.B. I ask people on no account to post material written by someone else. In the unlikely event that you have reason to believe that something on this site was written by someone other than the person purporting to have written it here, please be sure to email me giving details so that I can take the necessary action to rectify the situation.
