Does the fact that the Taken In Hand woman is subordinate mean that she is a lesser person?

Absolutely not. Giving a man control requires considerable psychological strength and confidence – at least as much strength as the man has. The woman in a Taken In Hand relationship is often a person in a position of power in other spheres of life, or a person whom others imagine to be dominant.

Take the Taken In Hand tour

No.

No.

If being Taken In Hand is to be subordinate then it is in terms of being deputy, assistant and executive to her man, who is the chief or leader. Healthily performed this is a partnership position that will enhance the relationship as a whole and allow her man to direct and guide the couple/family to greater achievements and emotional satisfaction than they could otherwise obtain. The man could not do this without his woman as subordinate. Her position is vital and she is thus enhanced in stature and prized by her man.

Compared to the shrew, or even compared to the woman who deliberately makes her man's life hard in not cooperating and following his positive lead, the woman who is happily and actively subordinate has far greater value to her mate, her children and the community.

Douglas.
