McKinley: librarianship (is that a word?)

relates to robin, considering she seems to be one of the most well-read
people on the planet - but anyway, can anyone on this list give me any
advice about pursuing a degree in library science? i remember someone on
this list mentioning she was a librarian, but i can't remember who(m)...i'm
trying to decide what do with my life after i graduate next year, and am
considering becoming librarian, so i would appreciate any info...i'd like
to specialize in children's/young adults' lit and work in an
elementary/middle school, but i'm confused - it seems there's some
distinction between being a librarian in a public library and working in a
school and being a "library media specialist..."? anyway, if anyone has
advice to give and doesn't want to post it to this list, please feel free
