I liked it... until the end. When I first purchased it, I read it
obsessedly, nightly but I never could seem to actually *finish* it.
(Towards the end, the book began to bore me.) I suppose that I was
looking for something more like Liza Dalby's _Geisha_ than a happy
ending in that fashion. (Dalby's book, to note, is on her
anthropological study of geisha as a geisha in the 1970's. She [and
Authur Golden, for that matter] was interviewed in A&E's documentary
[??] on geisha that aired a few months ago.)
