I have to agree with Hal and Carl in cautioning Nick regarding
brain complexity. It seems to me there is ample opportunity for
a great deal of gene-encoded information to be essential to brain
development and learning. 13K genes (Carl's estimate) can encode
an awful lot, and our tools for decoding their meaning are far
too primitive to suggest finishing the job anytime soon.
