I am a 2nd year student undertaking a B.Ed (Hons) course for Primary school children. Could you kindly please tell me who is the original author of the fairytale 'Beauty and the Beast'? I searched the net but unfortunetely, I cannot find the results I need. Maybe you could help me. I am in need of this information because I have to write up a journal in which I should state who is the original author, something about him (which I hope to find after I will know his name) and the date 'Beauty and the Beast' was first published.
