in my victorian lit class today my teacher mentioned kipling's _plain tales
from the hills_, and of course immediately i thought of robin. has anyone
read the plain tales? are any of them reminiscent of _sword_? (robin has
said that kipling's _the man who would be king_ most influenced sword, but
i'm sure she's familiar with all kipling's work, and of course recurrent
themes do run through his work, so that parts of _the man who would be
king_ might also recall parts of the plain tales...). also, has anyone read
kipling's _the cat that walked by himself_ or _captains courageous_?
somehow i never got around to reading either one in middle/elementary
school...
