I just wanted to write in and say how much I absolutely loved Rose Daughter. I pestered so many bookstore clerks (and friends) about getting it...I had them searching the whole store. I had almost completely given up when somebody actually found it and I received it with shaking hands, I was so excited! I made myself stretch the book over a few days (pure torture!) and the mood of it hung around for a week or so. I liked this ending much better. I was always mad at the end of Beauty because the Beast forgot his name. I am also a little confused about the simulcrum stuff and the old woman.
I was at my favorite local bookstore today and I picked up a Rose Daughter supplement thing. It is like the explanatory letter Robin wrote at the end of RD, but longer. You might want to ask your bookstore if they got any with their shipment. It was really interesting.
Anyway, I have been a fan since I was 11 or so, and I'm 20 now. My other favorite author is Diana Wynne Jones-ESPECIALLY her book Fire and Hemlock, a Tam Lin retelling. READ IT!! I also recommend Garth Nix's book Sabriel. Similiar to Robin with a strong female main character. I have lots more to recommend, but I'm writing from home and all my books are at school...will just have to write later!
