Aerin's scar
I just realized this when I reread _Hero_last week. Aerin was holding onto Gonturan's blade which left a scar on her palm. Could this have been the origin of having to scar the palms of the king's riders in _Blue sword_? It makes sense to me, I just want to know if anyone else out there has wondered the same thing.
