for who(m?)ever was looking for retellings of the 12 dancing princesses: there's a retellilng woven throughout jeanette winterson's novel _sexing the cherry_, although the main plot line doesn't focus on that faerie tale and be warned that the retelling borrows from other faerie tales as well - it's inverted and a little disturbing.
