Review of Deerskin
Has anyone seen the review at the Under the Covers site? (www.silcom.com/~manatee/sff.html) They gave it a Very Highly Recommend. I defintely don't agree. I loved the book, and did agree that it dealt with a painful subject realistically. Wouldn't you be afraid of physical and emotional contact if the only being that cared about you was your dog, and your father raped you?
I liked the book, and enjoyed the read. (I liked Chaucer, but did not enjoy reading it) But, I didn't think the book had the power of "Hero" or "Blue Sword" or the realistic tone of "Beauty."
By the way, does anybody think this is set in the same world has Damar? I don't think so, but...
