I remember Aerin telling Luthe to keep the bloodstone, too. So, I don't think Luthe's wearing the necklace in _A Knot in the Grain_ meant he was reunited with Aerin. I also wanted to point out that Luthe was wearing the bloodstone necklace in _The Blue Sword_ too.
