"Yumi, please also make yourself comfortable. It is going to be
a long trip."
While Yumi was returning the lunchboxes to the tempature-preserving
case, Sachiko-sama spread her lap blanket not only on her lap but on
her whole body below her neck. The driver seemed to be accustomed to
that, and did not hurriedly raised the tempature in the car because
of it.
"Sorry, but I would sleep for a while."
"Eh?"
"Sleep tight."
Sachiko-sama seemed to have closed her eyes, but peaceful breathing
could almost immediately be heard.
(What--?)
There are people who sleep on the way back home from hiking, but hey,
it was so early for sleep time that one would exclaim "What? Now?"
Only less than twenty minutes had passed since they departed from M
Station.
In hiking, isn't it one type of enjoyment to have some recreation on
the bus ride towards destination? But now, only two people were going,
one fell asleep, and the other one could not do anything.
"Onee-sama"
They were still in the city, and it was not fun to watch the familiar
scenes flashing by. Well, sure there was one more person in the car,
but you would not play shiritori (a game where
one say a word that begins with the last syllable of the last player's
word) with the driver.
"Onee-sama"
Yumi sent a light nudge, but Sachiko-sama didn't even make a move. It
was as if she had taken sleeping pills or something.
Yumi suddenly remembered.
Onee-sama had said that she took some car-sickness pills before she
left home.
(Pills may induce sleepiness.)
The warning message on instruction manuals appeared and disappeared
in Yumi's head.
