For my third game I was still Evil to my roommate's Good, but we tried the Judge scenario this time. Willow started with the Living Flame. Drusilla and Vamp X went for artifacts, Spike went for cards (maybe because he couldn't move far) and Buffy got the Boots of Running in that corner. Xander got the Magik Sword *again*, Vamp X got the Book of Spells, and Drusilla had trouble getting anything. Oz turned wolf and chewed on Vamp X a bit, Drusilla finally got the Arm (not that Good knew this, of course) and Buffy came down to pay her a visit. Drusilla used Surprise Attack and Sire a Vampire, out of hope, and actually rolled the two fangs to sire Buffy in the first attack. Oops. Drusilla then skipped over to raise the Judge -- the proximity to that square was why she'd risked attacking Buffy rather than going straightaway, I knew Buffy couldn't kill her that fast -- and barely moved again, since I had a sired vamp to deal with. Buffy and the Judge got Oz trapped between then and soon killed him; Vamp X wandered up toward the Initiative and got killed by Xander while rummaging for Evil cards. Buffy got Invited and went to get Xander in his house, but couldn't roll damage for shit. Really -- 3 rolls, no damage. The Judge went up to speed things up but after getting whacked by the Magik Sword, the Rocket Launcher, and a bit more, was soon down to 5 life and started running for his life. Willow got sired by Buffy though and went to spend her life in the High School since I rolled lots of big flame + 1 little flame. Spike and Drusilla of course could never move again unless I got 3 flames, and weren't going to move off their black dots. You'll note Xander's plight. Oz is dead, Buffy and Willow are vampires, and Buffy keeps trying to kill him, although she's surprisingly bad at it. The only thing to prevent the end of the world is him. And his Magik Sword and high-combat Help cards, of course. The game turned into a chase -- him chasing the Judge, Buffy chasing him -- but he managed to catch up and knock the Judge down to 1 life point. So close! But then Buffy caught up to Xander and knocked him down to 1 life point. I was actually chicken enough to consider having the Judge run, but my roommate pointed out that with 5 dice the odds were really on my side, despite Buffy's experience. So the Judge attacked and rolled 4 damage, blasting Xander to ash and dooming the world. Which makes it 1-2, Good vs. Evil, with the 1 being largely due to Evil getting caught outside twice. I've stopped considering ways to make Evil more powerful. But it's neat how the game teeters back and forth -- at first I worried, given the starting cards; then I thought I was on top, especially with the easy sire of Buffy; then the Judge was on the run, and even Xander by himself was doing okay. I suffered from bad rolls later, else the game would have ended earlier, but got that early ridiculous roll on Buffy, which must have massively changed the game.
