    KG's list and comments.

I haven't seen most of these myself, and am going on hearsay:

Stories in the Liavek books, edited by Will Shetterly:

  • "Valóság and Élet" in Sandman: Book of Dreams, which I have read.
  • Allegedly some in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror edited by Datlow and Windling; the only concrete report is of "The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars"; there is, of course, a book of that title in the Fairy Tale series edited by Datlow and Windling...
  • Allegedly a poem "Attention Shoppers" in Xanadu I.

    Andrew Shawyer says:

Here's a list of all the Brust short stories in the Liavek series (I have all 5 collections, so I'm not passing on rumour, but fact) The list is in order of the Liavek series the Liavek series was edited by Will Shetterly and Emma Bull

    1. Liavek (Ace, 1985)

      "An Act of Contrition"

    2. Liavek: The Players of Luck (Ace, 1986)

      "An Act of Trust"

    3. Liavek: Wizard's Row (Ace, 1987)

"An Act of Mercy" (Megan Lindholm and Steven Brust)

    4. Liavek: Spells of Binding (Ace, 1988)

"An Act of Love" (Steven Brust, Gregory Frost, and Megan Lindholm)

    5. Liavek: Festival Week (Ace, 1990)

      "A Hot Night at Cheeky's"

Note that this series also includes stories by other great writers: Emma Bull, Charles de Lint, Megan Lindholm, Jane Yolen, Will Shetterly (also Patricia C. Wrede, Pamela Dean, but they aren't personal favourites of mine)

    (end quote)

Matthew Walsh says there's a compendium in honor of Roger Zelazny called Lord of the Fantastic, with a Brust story "Calling Pittsburgh".
