Cuauhnahuac, the "conquest" is more likely to have been a political alliance secured by marriage, similar to the one with Cuauht-Inchan. Two other towns in present-day Morelos were conquered by HuitzilihhuitlCuauhximalco (Coajomulco) and Yacapichtlan (Yecapixtla) 27but they were unconnected with Cuauhnahuac and were part of the struggle with Chalco, which was tentatively subdued for the first time the following year. However, Chalco neither pledged fealty nor paid tribute and quickly reasserted itself. Thus, this "victory" may have reflected a tactical success but not a strategic one.
