Final Destiny

Chapter One

The vampires were getting smarter. Their numbers were increasing at an astonishing rate and they seemed far cockier than Buffy ever remembered. Every night seemed the same. Buffy and Angel patrolled together, while Giles and the Slayerettes were in full research mode. So far no theories were made as to the reason for the sudden influx of so many vamps. The Watcher was sure this was a portent of some extremely evil prophecy but was unable to find it in writing.

Friday night had come. Teenagers left school excitedly chatting about their Friday night plans. To Buffy, Friday night was just the same as any other, except for the fact that she could sleep in the next day. She was really looking forward to sleeping in. The endless days of school and the nights of patrolling were taking their toll on her. She thought idly: I remember when I used to hunt vampires, now it seems like they’re hunting me.

The vampires were roaming in loose packs and did not hesitate to attack her and Angel. The fights were harder and more vicious. Each night after patrol she and Angel stopped at the library to give Giles the play-by-play of the night’s battles and to have their wounds tended to. Willow had eagerly assumed the head-nurse position. With her intelligence, her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and her never-wavering concern for their well-being, both Buffy and Angel knew they couldn’t be in better hands. Lately, the little hacker-turned-nurse had perfected her suturing. As Angel had said practice makes perfect. He was right and Willow had had a lot of practice lately. It seemed that each night either the Slayer or her vampire boyfriend needed stitches. The recent surge of vamp activity was sure taking its toll on their bodies. Thank God they both had accelerated healing skills.

As sunset fell upon Sunnydale, the Slayer walked into the library. It was unusually quiet. Upon looking around, Buffy saw Willow concentrating on something on her computer screen and her Watcher engrossed in a thick, ancient book. The keen blonde at once realized why it was so quiet, no arguments between Xander and Cordelia.

"Hey!" Buffy said "Where is the rest of the Scooby Gang?"

Willow smiled up at her and replied "Xander and Cordy took the night off, I think they’re going to the Bronze and Oz, well you know, it’s his time of the month."

"Oh." Buffy said as she formed a mental picture of Willow’s quiet boyfriend chained in his basement in full werewolf guise. Relationships on the Hellmouth sure were bizarre. With that thought, Angel walked in and gave Buffy a quick greeting kiss. He then proceeded to go over to speak to Giles as Buffy went into the office for supplies. When her bag was stocked up and stakes hidden in several secret places in her clothing, the Slayer and Angel headed out into the Hellmouth’s night.

Chapter Two

The night was cool and crisp and windy. The two warriors walked in silence, straining their ears to hear any suspicious noises amidst the blowing trees and skittering leaves. As they entered the graveyard, Buffy slowed and took her lover’s hand. "We’re not alone." She said quietly.

Angel only nodded and squeezed her hand before he let it go and they proceeded farther into the cemetery and into the impending battle. As they passed into the part of the graveyard with the mausoleums and huge stone markers, Buffy and Angel knew they were being stalked. When the ambush came, they were not surprised. The lovers stood back to back in fighting stances with stakes raised as they surveyed the group of six vamps that came from behind the stones to face them. The attack was silent and the battle was furious.

Buffy had staked the first vamp with ease as the others attacked in unison. Angel growled and rushed a large vampire as it came at him head on. He punched the vamp in the face and then placed a spin kick to its chest. As the creature was reeling backwards, Angel thrust a stake home and it crumbled to dust. Two vampires held Buffy’s arms while a third was pummeling her with it’s fists. As the big vamp backed off to get a better swing, Buffy kicked him hard with both feet. The force of the impact caused the other vampires to lose control of her arms. While she and the big vamp were fighting face to face another snuck up from the side and buried a knife into Buffy’s thigh. She screamed out in outrage and pain as she pulled the knife out of her leg. Injured and angry, the Slayer’s adrenaline allowed her to finish off two of her three attackers in a matter of minutes of vicious battle.

Angel was fighting a huge vamp who looked like an undead WWF hero. The creature was a full foot taller and a good 120 pounds heavier than his ensouled foe, but the big vamp was slow even though he was powerful and Angel used that to his advantage. Angel attempted to knock the big demon off his feet but was grabbed by the jacket and hurled into a large marble gravestone. The impact caused a gash on Angel’s forehead and as blood began to trickle into his eyes, his light-headedness grew stronger. Angel knew he needed a moment to clear his head or he would most certainly be killed by his attacker. Ducking behind one large stone marker and then another, the big vamp followed his wounded prey, playing a deadly game of cat and mouse. Angel doubled back silently and crept out of hiding to impale the creature with a stake through the back. Angel was surprised when instead of crumbling to dust, the big vamp turned around and backhanded him with enough force to kill a human instantly. In the few seconds that Angel fought unconsciousness, he threw himself against the powerful creature and this time was fortunate to knock it off it’s feet and onto it’s back where the force of it’s own bodyweight forced the stake further into it’s back until the heart was pierced and the ashes fell covering the manicured grass and the semi-unconscious Angel.

Buffy fought her last attacker tooth and nail. She was weakening due to blood loss from the stab wound in her leg. The vamp punched her hard in the face and as the Slayer hit the ground dazed, she knew she was in trouble. The demon grinned as he straddled the weakened girl. Buffy could see the ridges of his vampire visage illuminated by the moon’s sickly glow. As the demon leaned over her, reaching for her throat, he winced in pain and was surprised to see a stake sticking out of his chest ,Clever girl, he thought before he exploded, covering Buffy with ash. As Buffy stood up and brushed herself off she saw a vampire come out from behind a large stone mausoleum. The vamp smiled at her and shot her with a 9mm handgun. Buffy fell over, clutching her abdomen and writhing in pain.

The gunshot awoke Angel from his state of unconsciousness. He looked around and saw Buffy thrashing on the ground and a vampire with a handgun slowly approaching her with a wicked grin on its face. As Angel stumbled to his feet to protect his girlfriend, the demon aimed the gun at her chest and fired. Buffy screamed a blood-curdling scream of agony as her lover attacked the demon. The vamp shot Angel twice before it was staked and all that was left was a pile of dust and a gun.

Angel ran to Buffy who was no longer moving. He sat beside her and when he heard her ragged breathing he took her into his arms. The first shot had gone into her midsection and dark blood was oozing from it. The second shot went completely through her chest. Blood poured out of the front and back of the hole. Angel used his hands to try to stop the bleeding bit it was of no use. Buffy’s eyes fluttered open for a few seconds and as she stared into the face of her true love she asked "Do you love me?"

Angel smiled at her with the best smile he could muster and told her the truth, straight from his heart. "Forever." He said and kissed the top of her head. The little Slayer closed her eyes and coughed blood onto his already blood-soaked shirt.

Chapter Three

Giles and Willow both jumped when the library doors bang open. Angel fell through them and onto the floor. They both rushed to him and as Willow leaned down to turn him over she exclaimed "Oh God." and her face paled. Giles looked at his fallen comrade and stared silently at the doors, hoping his Slayer was not far behind but deep inside he knew that she wasn’t coming back this time.

The redhead turned Angel over to inspect his wounds. She found a bullet-hole in his side, one in his shoulder and a gash on his forehead. He had many other scrapes and contusions on him but she knew that he’d recover. What worried her was the unbelievable amount of blood that he was covered with. Willow knew that the undead’s circulatory system was so slow that they didn’t bleed much, even when seriously wounded. She wondered whose blood he was wearing and where Buffy was. The hacker knew that this vampire would fight to the death to protect his lover but tonight he came back alone and covered with gore. Willow was worried.

"Willow." The Watcher said with a trembling voice. "We have to awaken him. We must find out about Buffy."

Willow stared at Giles for a moment and saw the dread in the older man’s face. He didn’t think that Buffy made it. Willow grabbed the smelling salts and headed back to Angel. The salts worked and Angel stirred. He groaned as he sat up and looked around, disoriented. When his gaze met with Giles’, he dropped his eyes to the floor and started crying. Giles moved closer to him and asked quietly with a shaky voice, "Angel, what happened to Buffy?"

The vampire trembled and then spoke in quiet sobs. "She’s dead, she’s dead, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry."

The Watcher slid down into a chair and put his face in his hands and wished that the room would stop spinning. Willow cried quietly in the corner and Angel remained on the floor, sobbing. A while later Giles asked Angel about the details of the battle that ended the life of history’s most powerful Slayer. Angel, while still distraught and exhausted quietly told the story. At the end, the sadness and guilt shown in his eyes worse than before, he again lowered his eyes and spoke directly to her Watcher. "I’m sorry, so very sorry. I let her down. I let you down. I let myself down. I’m so sorry. I understand that you hate me." He said.

Giles who was a little confused by the statement said "There’s nothing for you to be sorry for or for us to hate you for Angel. You didn’t kill her."

" There is," Angel said sadly, "I was selfish, I didn’t want to lose her, I love her so much and she was slipping away so quickly, I didn’t have time to reason things out. I didn’t want to lose her so I brought her across. I didn’t feed from her , I just gave her my blood. I couldn’t just let her go." He sobbed.

"Oh dear." Giles exclaimed as he once again slid down in his chair. Willow gasped in shock but then brightened. Buffy’s not gone, she thought, she’s just different. Angel once again raised his gaze, this time to Willow and he said "She will be powerful, I need you to curse her before she wakes up so she won’t hurt anyone." Willow smiled at him and shook her head. "Of course." She said.

Giles asked tentatively "When, when will she rise?"

Angel shrugged lightly. "I really don’t know," he said, "with normal humans its at least two or three days later but with Buffy I don’t know, it may be sooner , maybe even tomorrow night" he sighed.

"Where is she?" Willow asked.

"My apartment." Angel replied "I put restraints on her just in case but I know she can’t wake tonight."

"Ok." Willow replied "Tomorrow afternoon we’ll perform the ritual and tend to your wounds."

"Willow," Angel asked sheepishly, "will you bring some of Buffy’s clothes with you? She’s a mess."

"Look who’s talking." She replied "Thank God her Mom is away at that art seminar." With that they climbed in Giles’ car and went home. On the way home Giles and Willow decided not to tell the rest of the gang until after the ritual.

Chapter Four

Giles picked up Willow at four the next afternoon and with a big duffel bag of supplies, they headed to Angel’s apartment. "Giles," Willow asked "Do you hate him for changing Buffy?"

The weary Watcher thought for a moment and replied "No, he loves her, we all do. If I had been in his position, the result would have probably been the same."

When they arrived at Angel’s, Willow was relieved to see that he had showered and changed and was no longer covered with gore. He led them to the bedroom to see Buffy. The little Slayer was tucked under the covers of his bed, as still as death. Only her neck and arms were visible above the sheets. Her hair was dirty and matted with dried gore. Her face and neck were flecked with dried blood droplets. Her arms were outstretched and handcuffed to the bed with two sets on each wrist. Her arms were bruised and bloody.

Giles was speechless and looked visibly ill. He left the bedroom and headed for a close chair.

"Angel," Willow queried, "She can’t wake during the day, right?" The sad vampire just shook his head in response. "Ok." The redhead said in her recently found assertive voice. "Let’s get the ritual done and get her cleaned up and your wounds tended to." She said as she stared at the nasty gash on his forehead that badly needed suturing.

A half an hour later Willow had performed the ritual like a pro, once again channeling the ancient magicks correctly, sending the soul of her fallen friend back to it’s body.

Buffy’s body was still unresponsive due to it being several hours before sundown. Angel filled the bathtub with warm water, removed the handcuffs and carried his lover into the bathroom where he left her lying on a rug on the floor. He didn’t feel right about bathing her, even though they had once been intimate as he was sure that she would hate him once she realized that he brought her across and also Giles was making him feel very uncomfortable.

Giles packed up the utensils used for the ritual as Angel changed the bed. Willow cleaned and bathed her dead friend, saddened to see the extent of her wounds. She knew that Buffy had suffered extensively. The redhead then worked on Buffy’s wounds, dressed her and called for Angel. He came in and looked relieved to see his girlfriend looking clean. He took her back to the bed and reattached her restraints. He came out of the bedroom and Willow sutured his forehead and removed the bullet from his shoulder.

Feeling the sun going down, Angel was a nervous wreck. He paced the apartment like a caged tiger. He was confident in Willow, knowing that the spell had worked. His only worries lay in Buffy’s reaction when she woke. He had truly had very little time to decide if this was what Buffy would have wanted. He knew only that he didn’t want to exist in a world without her.

A stirring from the bedroom brought everyone to attention. Giles, Willow and Angel exchanged worried glances before the vampire went to confront is now undead girlfriend. Buffy was awake and testing the strength of the handcuffs as she saw him enter. "Hey lover," she said coyly, "if you wanted me in bed you could have just asked. You didn’t need to chain me up." Her smile faltered as she saw the worry in his eyes. "Why do I feel like I got hit by a truck? Wait a minute," she said as she tried to see down her shirt, "that bastard SHOT me!" As her anger grew, her face changed and her eyes glowed yellow. "I’m dead AGAIN!" She screamed. As she calmed herself she started crying and her features returned to normal. Angel came over and sat next to her on the bed.

"I’m sorry Buff." He said softly as he ran his hand lightly over her face.

"I’m a vampire, aren’t I?" Buffy cried softly.

"You are. I’m sorry. I couldn’t stand to lose you, I love you too much. We’re here for you." Buffy cuddled her face against his hand.

"I love you." She said "Can I be free now?" She gave him that pouty look that she knew he couldn’t deny. With a sigh Angel unlocked her handcuffs and carried her out of the bedroom and onto the couch. Once on the couch, Willow and Giles hovered over her.

"Hey." Willow said "How are you feeling? We were worried about you."

"Other than being undead, hurting like hell and getting really hungry, I’m just peachy." Buffy remarked as she smiled at her friend. Willow squeezed her hand and went to the kitchen, leaving her with her Watcher. "Hey Giles." Buffy said "I guess I let you down. I got killed and all that."

"I’m sorry Buffy, I didn’t prepare you well enough." He said guilt flooding his eyes.

"Yeah Giles." She said. " You didn’t buy me a bullet-proof vest." She laughed lightly, smiling into his eyes.

The Watcher smiled back at her and said "You need to rest now and heal and we need to talk to your mother soon."

"Oh poor Mom." Buffy said sadly. "Tomorrow night." She said. "Will you come with us? I think she’ll be less likely to freak with you there."

"Of course." Giles said. "We’ll get through this." Willow and Giles left and Buffy remained on Angel’s couch, not really sure she had the strength to get up even if she wanted to.

Angel came back into the room and Buffy motioned for him to sit beside her on the couch. When he did, she immediately smelled the scent of blood on him. Her eyes glowed again and the ridges reappeared. "I’m hungry." She said looking straight at him. Angel went back to the kitchen and reemerged a few minutes later with a large glass of blood, warmed by the microwave. Buffy drank it greedily, set the glass on the coffee table and kissed Angel passionately before curling up in his arms. Angel carried her sleeping body to the bedroom and tucked her in. As he was heading for the couch he heard her call to him in a pleading voice. "Angel, stay with me please. I don’t want to be alone." He was overjoyed that she didn’t hate him, let alone find solace in his embrace. As Buffy let sleep claim her she realized that for the first time she truly felt safe and happy, here in death with her soulmate.

Chapter Five

Sunday afternoon the Slayerettes were gathered in the library. They were nervous as they watched Giles pace and clean his glasses, obviously in distress. They knew that something was up as they usually didn’t have research parties on Sunday afternoons. Annoyed by the silence and pacing Cordelia asked "So we’re all here on a Sunday, where is the great and all-powerful Slayer? Why does she get to skip this research party?"

Giles paled and Willow spoke up "Buffy’s sleeping, she had a rough weekend." She stated as she shot Giles a that was the best I could do look.

The Watcher cleared his throat and began to relay the harrowing tale to the rest of the Slayerettes. At the end, everyone in the room was crying and the shaky Giles once again had to sit down.

Buffy stirred lightly as her eyes fluttered open. She relished in the feeling of contentment that seemed to engulf her as she cleared the sleep from her brain. Angel was propped up on one elbow next to her watching her and smiling. She smiled back at him and stretched seductively against him. She smiled harder at him as she felt his body react to her touch. She pulled him in closer and kissed him deeply. As their passion increased, Buffy broke off and sat up quickly, wincing in pain from her healing wounds. "Mom." She said with wild eyes. "We have to see her tonight." With that she crawled over Angel and headed for the shower.

An hour later Giles arrived at Angel’s and was happy to see Buffy mobile and in fairly good spirits. She looked slightly nervous but her boyfriend appeared almost frantic. Giles could tell that Angel was afraid to face Buffy’s mom.

The time with Joyce went better than expected. She was sad at her daughter’s loss at any chance of a normal life but was happy to know that she hadn’t actually lost her. "Buffy." Joyce asked as they got up to leave, "When are you coming home?"

"I don’t know Mom." She said " Once I get used to this maybe but until I’m healed, I need to stay at Angel’s." Buffy looked at Angel and asked "If that’s ok with you?"

"Of course." He said as he squeezed her hand and they headed out the door.

Buffy had assured Giles that she wasn’t tired so eventually he gave in and took her and Angel to the library as she requested. She needed to see her friends. As she entered the library, a collective gasp was heard throughout the room. Willow rushed over to Buffy, hugged her and escorted her to a chair, mumbling something about healing, not walking. One by one the remaining Slayerettes hugged Buffy and told her that they were glad to see her. Oz shook Angel’s hand and Xander hugged him. All seemed well.

Or was it. Days passed as Buffy healed and regained her strength. Angel’s wounds healed and he reveled at sharing his life with his beloved. The vampire activity had only increased more rapidly since Buffy’s death and no Slayer had arrived yet to take her place. Evil was running unchecked in Sunnydale.

Each night was the same. The Slayerettes and Giles frantically researching and Buffy and Angel training together for long hours in the library, trying to attune her abilities. Giles was amazed at Buffy’s comeback. She was far more powerful, her senses were even more heightened than before and she seemed to be relaxed and comfortable in her immortal state.

The two immortals were dueling with quarterstaves. The constant clacking of blocked moves echoed through the library. Out of the clacking Xander yelled at the top of his lungs. "I FOUND IT!" This loud interruption broke Buffy’s concentration and she failed to block the oncoming thrust and was knocked hard to the floor by Angel’s unchecked swing. As she thudded to the floor Angel gasped and hurried over to her. He said that he was sorry and as he offered his hand to help her up, she casually flipped him on his back, kissed him deeply and sauntered over to Xander who seemed to be the center of attention. Yes indeed, Research Boy had come through with the knowledge. He had uncovered the prophecy that explained the sudden influx of vampires.

The mighty Slayer will die, the power will be left unguarded, the Ancient One will come and rule the legions of evil.

"So that’s it?" Buffy asked. "It sounds like your everyday run of the mill evil triumphs over all prophecy. What’s the big deal?"

"You died." Xander replied.

"Oh yeah." Buffy said slightly embarrassed. "So, who is this Ancient Guy and how and when do I kill him?"

Giles smiled at her. Even vampirism couldn’t stop her. She was truly an amazing girl. "Well," Giles said "he will be wearing this green amulet, he will be very powerful and apparently tomorrow night he will arrive unguarded. That will be your best bet. Now you two should get some rest. I’ll take you home."

Chapter Six

The following night was stormy. The rain beat down rhythmically. Buffy shuddered as she reminisced, nothing good ever happened during a storm. Evil was indeed voicing it’s power over Sunnydale. Angel saw Buffy shudder and sink farther into her leather jacket. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Yeah." She said glumly. "I just hate the rain."

They all met in the library, wishing their two undead warriors luck in their battle. Buffy chose a few choice stakes, apparent favorites of hers. Angel chose a stake and a crossbow. He really meant business, they WERE going to win. Once equipped, the two lovers headed out into battle, hand in hand.

The night was eerie, no vampires in sight, only the constant, dreadful rain. Their search led them to the graveyard and once again to the section with the mausoleums. Buffy shuddered again as a strong feeling of deja vu entered her body along with a new sensation of supreme evil. Angel sensed it too and tried to pull her back behind a tomb. He wanted to see what they were up against before it saw them. Buffy shook him off and remained in the open, challenging the Ancient One and all that he stood for. Angel stayed in the shadows. He knew that she wanted , needed this fight to avenge her own death. He would be there to back her up if she needed it.

The Ancient One slowly approached the Slayer. The creature was in the guise of a sorcerer. The green amulet glowed brightly against his chest. He stared menacingly at the Slayer whose glowing eyes and ridges showed that she was no longer of the living. "I see you are one of us." The demon gloated at her.

"I’ll NEVER be one of you!" Buffy screamed at him, raising her stake and lunging. The demon lifted his hand, the amulet dimmed and Buffy was propelled backwards and smashed against a large gravestone. She was stunned for a moment and then attacked again. Once again, she was hurtled backwards into a monument. Angel watched attentively and decided it was time to intervene. As the Ancient One focused on Buffy, Angel aimed the crossbow and fired. The bolt hit it’s mark and green amulet dropped to the ground. Buffy grabbed the amulet immediately and tossed it to Angel. He caught it and smashed it against a gravestone, shattering it into a million fragments. The fragments glowed, then sparked and turned black. The demon screamed a high-pitched wail as it sparked and then exploded, leaving smoking pieces of flesh all over the cemetery and Buffy. "Eeww gross!" Buffy whined as Angel took her hand. "That was great shooting, by the way." She said as she smiled at him.

"We make a great team." He said as he squeezed her hand.

"The best." She answered as they headed back to the library.

The Slayerettes and Giles were fighting panic. They were extremely worried about their friends. As the library doors swung open and the triumphant warriors strode in everyone breathed a sigh of relief. "God Buffy, are you ok?’ Willow asked as she noticed her friend covered with gore.

"Yeah Will." Buffy remarked full of confidence. "This time it’s not mine!" She smiled widely at her loyal friends.

After filling everyone in on the details of the battle and making Angel blush by doting on his great crossbow skills, she announced that she really needed a shower. So, hand in hand the two lovers headed home.

Chapter Seven

Once inside Buffy kissed Angel innocently on the cheek and sauntered off to the bathroom. Angel watched her go, trying to put his mind on things other than her swinging ass. He needed to keep his hormones in check. It had been difficult for him to sleep with Buffy every night and not to make love to her. He knew that Buffy wasn’t ready, that she was still healing from the emotional scars left from their tryst on her birthday.

Buffy turned on the water and piled her bloody jacket and boots in the corner. She opened the door quietly just a crack and waited. She watched Angel hang up his jacket and take off his shoes. Soon enough he walked past the door headed to the kitchen. Buffy sprung. She reached out, grabbing him, pulling him into the steamy bathroom, pinning him against the back of the door. Shocked, Angel didn’t even realize what was happening until it was too late. He was being pinned to the bathroom door by the little Slayer’s body. "What’s wrong, Buffy?’ He asked innocently, willing his body to be calm. One look into her eyes told him exactly what was wrong.

"You need a shower, lover." She said with a seductive voice and lust-filled eyes.

"So do you." Angel stated raising his hand to wipe a piece of the demon’s flesh off her forehead.

Buffy ran her hands over her boyfriend’s lean, rain-soaked body as she assaulted his lips and neck with her mouth. Angel growled lightly in pleasure as she slowly began to undress him. He remained submissive, letting her have her fun, until he could no longer stand it. He all but tore Buffy’s clothes off before he picked her up, rubbing their naked bodies together, then carrying her to the shower. Their passion, so long restrained, burst free and consumed them both, mind and body. Angel set about the task of cleaning Buffy. She was so beautiful to look at and what she was doing to him with her mouth made it very difficult for him to concentrate. Buffy had teased her lover to the point she wanted him at. He was moaning and was obviously lost in passion. As she pulled away from him she heard him growl deep in his throat. She smiled and started to wash him. Angel suckled and teased her as she cleaned him from head to toe. He reveled in the moans and cries he heard from her. As he knelt down to allow her to wash his hair, he worked his tongue and fingers in the center of her wetness. Buffy began to moan louder and thrust herself on his fingers. He kept up the pace as she moved him ever so slightly to rinse his hair. He reapplied his tongue and was delighted as she growled loudly and then spasmed around his fingers. She let her head roll back as her orgasm rocked her body. Angel then picked her up roughly, re-igniting her passion and shoved her against the shower wall. She wrapped her legs around him. He took a deep breath and impaled her upon his manhood. Buffy screamed and began thrusting against him, her mouth licking and nipping at his neck. Their thrusts increased, fast and furious until they climaxed together yelling and growling in sheer ecstasy. He set her down slowly, as they were both exhausted. She put the stopper in and allowed the big bathtub to fill with warm water and scented bubbles. The two exhausted lovers lounged, entwined in the sudsy water. After awhile, Buffy spoke. "As much as I hate to," she said staring into his eyes, "I need to get out soon or I’m going to be all pale and pruny and dead-looking."

"You are dead." Angel reminded her.

"Yeah," Buffy said "and I’ve never felt better!"
