We were fighting and you were to die,
I was more than ready to turn you to dust,
You tormented my friends and I for months,
And all I felt for you was disgust.
Suddenly you gasped and groaned in pain,
I saw your eyes flash red and then back to brown,
You looked at me and seemed confused,
You started to cry as you looked around.
I realized you had come back to me,
I hugged you like I would never let you go,
Then I opened my eyes and saw the vortex,
And I knew what I had to do.
I said I loved you trying hard not to cry,
You said you loved me,
I told you to close your eyes,
And then I damned you for all eternity.
It was awhile before I started to weep,
I could not believe what I had done,
I had just banished you to the underworld,
My one true love was really gone.
I am on a bus out of Sunnydale now,
And out the window I gaze,
Angel, you are forever in my heart,
And I will love you always.
