Raymond E. Fiest's series on the Rift Wars. I just finished the first book,
Apprentice: Magician and am going to go see if the library has the other three
books. (Actually, book #4 isn't out until March.)
They're good: magic, trolls, elves, dwarves, dragons... they've got it all!
