McKinley: Disscusing The Hero and the crown

I read this book, The Hero and th Crown, in seventh grade, at age 11,
and I was wondering if, maybe that it was based on dreams, or strange
experiences you had, or if they just called to you and said "Write me"
     I would like to know how you started writing, why, and how, because
I would like to become a fantsy writer someday.
