it seems to me that almost everyone read them out of order. Robin said it was done that way because you're supposed to think of Aerin as the perfect hero in _Sword_, but then when you read _Hero_ you find that it wasn't any easier for her. this obviously makes sense; i've always wanted to experiment on someone and make them read the books in the right order. i actually had the chance when i convinced my best friend to read them, but i unthinkingly gave her _Hero_ first because it's my favorite. i'll have to find someone else to experiment on; it takes some convincing, as most people dismiss them as childrens' books. so, perhaps the question should be: has anyone read them in the *right* order?
