I think there was a fairy tale about two lovers who died together in a garden and a rose bush grew from their grave. I don't remember what it's called, but if anyone's read the anthology Snow White, Blood Red, editing by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling, the very first story is a version of that tale. (I THINK!!!)
