I first read this book 13 years ago when I was an overly tall, blonde, grey-eyed girl who read too many books and still prefered climbing trees to putting on makeup an fixing my hair. I was always different but after I read this book I wasn't sure that was such a bad thing. I hated waiting for her new books to get to the library because I could always relate to something in each of her characters. Her books along with some others gave me the strength to be myself and helped me gain confidence to pursue my own interests.
