role of faith in Beauty

Faith in god plays no role in any of McKinley's books. Beauty practically takes place in Elizabethan England, but has no mention of religion. Rose Daughter replaces priests with sorcerers. Hero had priests who were more of clerks and lawyers; Aerin mentioned gods but they were utterly irrelevant. Blue Sword is the closest to having religious feeling, in the hero-cult/ancestor-worship of Aerin.

I suppose one could say Beauty had faith in the Beast not eating her, or something, but I wouldn't have said it sustained her.
