i also was dissapointed by the ending of _outlaws_ - not so much because it was a "quick fix" but because the crusades seem to me such a doomed and despicable pursuit in the first place.(of course i wasn't there, but that's the impression i get from the history books, though maybe it's expecting too much for characters "living" centuries ago, even Much and Cecily, to be open-minded about race and religion and recognize the waste of such wars!)
