yeah, i did read something about her first husband being in the army and then getting into public administration or something like that, and they would walk down the street together with him in his suit and robin in her leather(she was a bike messenger at the time). as to that person's theory about "dissociative episodes" - i have dissociative episodes in my life and my writing - but i don't imagine they come from any repressed memories of abuse or using illegal substances or anything like that - i think it's called having an overactive imagination. besides, i can't imagine robin, of all people, staying with a man who abused her for nearly 10 years; she did say she shared much in common with her characters, and it's hard to imagine her putting up with a guy like that.
