re: luthe the healer?
i think it is the same luthe in _hero_ as in robin's short stories since in _hero_ luthe does refer to someone named "lily" - and he also says how dissapointed she would be in him so maybe he has been humbled as you suggested and doesn't regard himself as a worthy healer anymore.
