according to my dictionary, "yggdrasil" is a scandinavian ash tree thought to connect heaven and earth - but there's no picture in my dictionary so that's not much help as to what the beast looks like - maybe someday i'll run across an ash tree or at least a telling picture of one. (didn't one of the writers to this page say they specialized in norse mythology?) p.s. - a few messages ago i said that howard ashman wrote _a night without stars_ - what was i thinking! howard ashman did the music for the little mermaid and beauty and the beast - james howe wrote _a night without stars_.
