Similarity to 'Allerleiruah'

Deerskin contains many similarities to the Brother's Grimm tale 'Allerleiruah'. In it, a beautiful queen makes her husband promise that, after her impeding death, he will only re-marry to a woman more beautiful than her. Of course, he picks his darling daughter. The daughter flees to another kingdom where she is called 'Allerleiruah' (meaning furs-of-all-kinds) for the fur mantle she wears. She works in the kitchens, sneaking into the occasional feast and bewitching the King. In time, all is revealed, they get married and live happily ever after. The End.
