Another wildly enthusiastic fairy tale book review
This one is for "Ella Enchanted," by Gail Carson Levine. It's based on Cinderella, it destroys all of the little niggling annoying things that bother me about the fairy tale (i.e. why she always obeys, the fairy godmother never appearing before, the prince falling in love with her based on her appearance, etc.), and it is absolutely *wonderful*!! It's still just in hardback, but if you have $5 come February, pick it up in paperback. You won't regret it, I promise.
