AltInst: Pitching Alternative Institutions

From: Robin Hanson <rhanson@gmu.edu>
Date: Fri Apr 28 2000 - 08:16:03 PDT

I'm forwarding the following message to this
particular list, even though I'm guessing that those
who sent it probably didn't want it spread very broadly.
So I'm asking that you not forward it publicly beyond
this list.

This looks like a great chance to get more publicity
for alternative institution ideas.

>Dear Robin Hanson,
>
>I am contacting you about a number of your ideas
>including the Negative Liability that was posted on
>Global Ideas Bank. We think the idea may be perfect
>for a new Fox television show created by Norman Lear,
>Al Burton, and myself. The show features real people
>pitching their big ideas to a worldwide audience (and
>our celebrity panel). The concept is to give creative
>people exposure they would not otherwise have. And,
>if you win, we will actually give you a head start
>towards transforming your big idea into reality.
>
>The first step is to send us a videotape of you
>pitching your idea to us. The more imaginative and
>visual, the better. And, given the fact that our
>first tape cut-off date is May 15th, the sooner the
>better. Tapes can be sent to:
>
>The Big Pitch
>P.O. Box 291598
>Los Angeles, CA 90029
>
>If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
>our Segment Producer, Rachel Reiss, in Al Burton's
>office. Her phone number is (323) 860-3973.
>
>Sincerely,
>Steven Lipscomb
